Woking Family Contact Centre is always interested in hearing from people who can spare the time to volunteer and help the children and parents we support.
Volunteers typically attend seven sessions per year, each lasting about 3 hours on a Saturday afternoon.

Family Contact Centre volunteers have to be discrete, impartial, caring, enthusiastic, tolerant, reliable and sensitive. They must be able to deal with difficult situations and with parents under stress. They must also be prepared to work as part of a mutually supporting team.
Our volunteers make a real difference to a significant number of families in Woking and the surrounding area. Volunteers typically attend seven session per year on a Saturday afternoon, each lasting about 3 hours.
Prospective adoptive parents may consider volunteering at our Centre, as this is sometimes suggested by adoption agencies. Some of our volunteers have joined us with this interest in mind. Our expectation is that any new volunteer will stay with us for at least 1 year because of the time taken for recruitment and training.
Support us
Whilst all the Woking Family Contact Centre helpers and trustees are volunteers, we would not be able to continue our work without financial and practical support.
We give our sincere thanks to Woking United Reformed Church, which makes its facilities freely available for contact sessions and for meetings.
